  • 3 RSS EMPLOYEES COMPETE IN CAYMAN'S TRIATHLON
    .
You'd think a triathlon on Grand Cayman would involve diving, snorkeling and sailing a catamaran. Not! The annual Cayman Islands Triathlon Association is an organized 1,500M (0.93 mile) swim, followed by a 40K (24.8 miles) bike ride, then a 10K (6.2 miles) sprint to the finish line. Oh, the agony of "the feet"! In the early morning hours of November 23, three Red Sail Sports employees began their journey across the island in this popular event. The race results?

Paul Lusk (CFO & COO) time/2:39:52 ******************* Bill Edwards (Cayman Controller) time/2:44:47 ************ Ivan Lee (Watersports Supervisor) time/2:47:10 *********** Earlier in 2003, Ivan also completed the Canadian Ironman.

Training for the 2004 triathlon has already begun and the stakes have been raised for next year's race!

Think you can beat Paul, Bill or Ivan? Sign up now for 2004! È

ARUBA TURNS 50 ... In 2004, Aruba's Annual Carnival Celebration will commemorate a half century worth of traditions. For the first time, Divers Alert Network (DAN) conducted its 49th Diving & Hyperbaric Medicine Course in Hawaii. The six-day course featured five mornings of diving the Kohala coast with Red Sail Sports, some night dives, and instructional courses every afternoon.

"This was the first time DAN has conducted this course in Hawaii and based on our wonderful experience, I am sure we will be returning," said Cindi Easterling from DAN.

The course is designed primarily for physicians, emergency medical personnel, parademics and nurses. Dive instructors and dive masters also find the course to be invaluable. Associated with Duke University Medical Center (DUMC), DAN is a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical and research organization dedicated to the safety and health of recreational scuba divers.

Divers Alert Network is supported by membership dues and donations. In return, members receive a number of important benefits, including $100,000 emergency medical evacuation assistance, DAN educational publications, a subscription to "Alert Diver" magazine, and access to diving's first and foremost accident insurance coverage.
