Smart Meter Facts

18 clustered gas Smart Meters outside of Storage Room A, on the other side of condo #30’s living room wall.

Clusters of Smart Meters at 28 Marinero Circle and 99 Lyford Drive

Fact: We have groups (clusters) of Smart Meters that emit substantial, continuous, and extremely high levels of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (EMF) that can cause CANCER. When clustered, a multiplying effect emits even more radiation.

Fact: This issue was voted on twice by the HOA Board of Directors and did not gain a majority of votes either time.

Fact: The National Toxicology Program (under the National Institute of Health) has stated that that EMF does cause CANCER as well as numerous other illnesses.

Fact: In 2011, PG&E installed 37 gas and 37 electric Smart Meters at 28 Marinero Circle, plus another 13 of each at 99 Lyford Drive: 74 + 26 = 100 total Smart Meters, which can:

  • Cause a variety of health and environmental problems from excessive radiation, including cancer, severe headaches, nausea, sleep deprivation, depression, nerve issues, electric or EMF hypersensitivity, and more.
  • Become a potential fire hazard from overheating, burning, arcing, or lightning strikes.
  • Present a financial concern because they overcharge homeowners and our HOA on readings taken at the peak of each 24/7 cycle, which is 10% or higher than actual use.

Fact: Three 28 Marinero Circle condo owners hired an independent consultant to take EMF meter readings, which revealed radiation “off the scale” and beyond the upper limit at 41,600 microwatts per square meter, far above levels that can cause cancer –– and 4 million times more radiation than 1.0 mw / square meter for cell phone use. Fact: PG&E testimony states that there are 14,000 to 190,000 transmissions or pulses per day from each of their smart meters.

When you cluster 18 together like we have on the other side of #30’s living room wall at 28 Marinero Circle, that’s 252,000 to 3.4 million pulses per day.

A few yards away, there are another 18 electric smart meters in the laundry room of Storage Area #1, also blasting out huge numbers of daily radiofrequency electromagnetic field radiation.
