Recycled Creativity

As a Certified Green Bay Area Business, I took a pledge to reduce my carbon footprint by using recycled products and services wherever possible. To that end, I’m recycling some of my past successes as a freelance copywriter in each of these newsletters.
Here’s an example: Del Monte Pickles Free Standing Insert

I wrote this FSI for Del Monte Pickles, Peppers and Relishes when I was working for a promotions agency in San Francisco. The headline: “Top Off Your BBQ with The Pickles People Relish Most!” was just the right fit for their lineup of pickle products.

A Recent Success Story

A few months ago, I wrote a direct response project for Wells Fargo as a freelance financial copywriter through a So. Calif. direct marketing agency. As a long-time customer, I could write from first-hand experience about its great customer service. The new Card Design Studio lets you customize your Business or Personal ATM/Debit Card with a photo.

Lots of banks offer that, but Wells Fargo lets you upload not just your mug shot, but your logo, your typeface, your branding elements, your corporate colors, and more.

If you’re a Wells Fargo customer, the Card Design Studio service is “Fast, easy and free” as I stated in the direct marketing package as a freelance financial copywriter, and as the bank has used in its online page on its Website.

The Card Design Studio lets you also choose from dozens of images in its library if you don’t have one of your own — and the whole online design process literally takes a few minutes, whether you’re an expert in design or not.

Humor Is A Funny Thing

Have you seen this fictitious page about “If Facebook Existed Years Ago”? It’s frigging hilarious! And if you haven’t yet seen “The Social Network” movie about the founding of Facebook, I highly recommend that you see it now.

Why I Love Referrals

A friend of mine through my referral network just forwarded me a Craig’s List email about someone looking for writers for a new Intuit Small Business Blog. Because I’mve written about 1,500 blog articles about advertising, marketing, sales, and travel, I applied. A week later, I got the gig as a contributing writer and am now cranking out several articles a week for them. Please read some of my articles and make a comment.
